To properly assess your needs we will need some information, so here is a list of what we need to get the process started and definitions of each item:
Project Name – A project needs a name. If it does not have a specific name, use the street address.
City and State – The city and state of the project, not the city and state of your business.
Floor Travel – This is defined as the distance in feet and inches from the bottom finished floor to the top finished floor. Measure from the floor to the floor not from floor to ceiling. You may think we are overdoing this, but lots of mistakes are made. An accurate price needs this to be as precise as possible. (See diagram) A finished floor is completed with carpet or other covering if any.
If you do not know the total floor travel and just need Fast Track numbers, you can guess and supply us with the actual figure later. Using plans may get you in the ballpark but are rarely accurate.
Total Number of Stops – An elevator must have at least 2 stops. If it only had one, it would be a broom closet with a fancy door. Every floor the elevator will stop needs to be counted. (See diagram)
Total Front Stops – When you enter an elevator at the primary floor, entry or egress, every floor that has a door that opens on same side of the elevator is called a front stop. (See diagram)
Reverse Stops – When you enter an elevator from the primary floor, any floor that’s door opens on the opposite side of the car is a reverse stop. (See diagram)
Car Size – The elevator industry measures car capacity in the number of pounds it is designed to move and we offer cars between 2500lbs. and 4000lbs. The smallest we offer is 2500lbs. It is ADA compliant as are all our cars. A 3000lbs. car is larger in size as well as capacity and a 3500lbs. car is gurney compliant. These are our standard size. If you would like to consider something larger please choose other and estimate the size you would want.
Now that we know some parameters of the project we can supply you will a Fast Track number. If you are looking at price remember to compare apples to apples. Our product is the hoistway and the elevator equipment already installed. When are getting a quote from other companies, they often only quote the price of the elevator equipment and not the cost of building a hoistway.
Somethings that are harder to quantify is the increased overall quality, the reduction of waste, increased safety for the jobsite, reduced time for elevator installations (about a week), removing the elevator from the critical path and reduced general construction costs.
